Snake Valley Project

Snake Valley Cooperative
Weed Management Area Salt
Cedar Cut Stump Project

In 2006 the Snake Valley CWMA
continued their efforts to reclaim
the area around the Silver Creek
Reservoir.  This year a foliar
application method was used to
treat the areas that were not
treated last year do to the large
amounts of water that prevented
treatment.   These efforts also
included a reseeding of the initial
project site with grass.  The CWMA
also targeted a second Salt Cedar
infestation that was mapped in
2005.  The new treatment area is
larger than the infestation located
in Silver Creek but do to the marsh
type conditions a foliar treatment
seemed to be the best if not the
only option.  Approximately 325
acres were treated within this new
infestation through the combined
efforts of the Baker Ranches and
Tri-County Weed Control.
